THE EXISTENCE OF SOULS DEDUCED BY THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Would you like to know what is going to happen to you when you die?

I can tell you. (Hint: You do NOT just disappear and go out the way a light bulb goes out. Such a Universe would NOT be stable.)

Or—MUCH, MUCH better—I can deduce it. Logically, objectively, sticking strictly to the scientific method, theory and experiment. Without making one single demand for faith, without quoting any religious text, without one single call to “Beli-e-e-e-e-ve, brother!”

Just cold, clear, dispassionate logic. I have written it all down in a book, The Nine Point Five Theses, using such simple, clear logic you will be able to judge for yourself whether what I say is correct—or not.

Let me give you a sample of the logic in the book, so you can decide for yourself whether logically deducing the existence of souls is possible, and whether or not you’d really like to see the rest of it.

ALL of a Universe’s sentients MUST be eternal beings with eternal souls. For an incredibly simple reason.

It keeps them from blowing the Universe the Hell up.

Oh my, yes, every single sentient in the Universe has the capacity, ALL BY HIMSELF, of destroying the Universe, of blowing the entire Universe completely to Hell and gone. Stephen Hawking found a way to do it where all a sentient has to do is push a button ONCE. (I describe his method in the book.) I invite the thinking reader to come up with his own personal method of destroying the entire Universe.

In order to stop a sentient from doing such a thing, the Universe has no choice at all but to create ALL sentients as eternal beings with eternal souls. This, and ONLY this, will prevent the destruction of the Universe and make a sentient-containing Universe stable. For a profoundly practical engineering reason.

Nobody sane burns down their house while they are still in it.

And now a sentient-containing Universe is safe from its own sentients.
